✨Avicenna January Update: Introducing Roles & Permissions
Hello Avicenna Community,
As we wrap up January and head into the new year, we're focusing on making our platform more reliable and useful for your research needs. This month, driven by your feedback, we've fixed critical bugs to ensure smoother operation, and introduced a new feature to enhance your research efficiency and security.
🌟 Introducing Roles and Permissions
This month, we're introducing the Roles and Permissions feature. This feature is a major upgrade to our platform. It gives you more control over who in your team has access to what data, and can take what actions. The precise definition of access levels and responsibilities will enhance security, data protection, and operational efficiency, and it can be very valuable for larger studies.
Having this feature, now you can define multiple roles in your study. For each role, you can specify what actions they can take, and to what data they have access. You will also have a central place with the list of all researchers in your study. You can invite other colleagues or revoke their access. You can assign them roles to easily control their permissions. You can even choose what activities and which pages of the researcher dashboard they have access to. This page also gives you control over site access if your study is a multi-site project.
In essence, this feature simplifies the process of managing team permissions, ensuring sensitive data is safeguarded while granting appropriate access to necessary information and tools.

🚀 User Experience Improvements
- Optimized Logic Grouping in the Criteria Editor:
We fixed a bug where conditions connected by "OR" and "AND" operators weren't grouped correctly. Now, "AND" connected conditions are properly grouped for precise criteria definition. - Corrected Navigation to the Data Export Page:
We resolved an issue where users were redirected to the wrong page from the Data Sources page. Now, navigation is more straightforward. - Clarified Activity Responses Display:
We've standardized the display of question IDs and labels in the Activity Responses table for easier data review. - Enhanced Survey Criteria Evaluation:
We fixed a critical issue where survey questions weren't displayed even when participants met the criteria. Now, questions appear as intended, improving the survey experience. - Refined Invitation Export Functionality:
Previously, exporting the list of invited participants did not include information on their site affiliation for multi-site studies. We've changed this to include site-specific details as well. - Enforced Dropout Survey Time Limit:
This improvement makes sure participants can no longer change their responses to the Dropout Survey after the survey's expiry time. - Improved Notification Table Visibility:
One-off notifications sent to participants are now correctly displayed in the notification table.
